 报告摘要:

 Graphene,  C60 and carbon nanotube are low dimensional carbons with tremendous  commercial implications toward energy and electronic devices. However, they  suffers from the fact that most of them lack processibility and more  importantly, the correlation between molecular structure and the devices  performance associated with these materials remain elusive. Herein, we present  syntheses and characterization of a series of low-dimension, carbon-based  nanomaterials (C60s and nanographenes) with various functional groups  to render tunability in electronic and optical properties. These nanographenes  and C60s have an excellent cyclic durability and a much enhanced  charge capacity as novel anode materials for LIBs. Moreover, theoretical charge  capacity of these nanographenes exceeds 2000 mAh/g due to an increased edge to  surface ratio and oxygen containing functional groups. These exceptional metrics  observed within the novel assemblies is primarily due to the robust structure  with high surface areas along and optimal d-spacing which allowing for  facilitated Li adsorpiton/desorption and diffusion.

 

We  have established a strong correlation between molecular structure of the anode  materials and battery performances. Such correlation entails underpinning  structural requirements for electrode materials, which will address current  challenges in charge capacity and stability. Our work offer insights and  solution through synthetic chemistry to develop next generation LIBs with  superior energy storage properties.

 报告人简介:

 王湘麟教授,国家“千人计划”专家,广东省珠江领军人才,南方科技大学材料科学与工程系教授。王教授在南佛罗里达大学获得有机化学博士学位(1987-1992),之后在宾州大学化学系(1993-1995.10)及洛斯阿拉莫斯国家实验室化学科学技术部门(1995.10-1998.04)进行博士后研究。1998年-2016年,在洛斯阿拉莫斯国家实验室生物部和化学部任技术员、研究员、高级研究员(团队组长)职位,曾任美国能源部洛斯阿拉莫斯国家实验室计划主持人,和“导电聚合物应用与研发”团队负责人(Team  Leader),并曾八次获得洛斯阿拉莫斯国家实验室优秀创新奖项。2016年9月起,在南方科技大学工作,任材料科学与工程系讲座教授。在有机化学和高分子化学领域进行20余年研究,研究领域包含:有机功能材料、有机/无机复合材料(太阳能电池、能量存储与转换)、有机生物材料(生物相容性、传感器)以及纳米复合材料(催化、传感)的制备与研发。

王湘麟教授的工作发表在  Science、Nat.  Nanotechnol.、Proc.  Natl. Acad. Sci.、J.  Am. Chem. Soc.、Chem.  Soc. Rev.、Adv.  Mater.、Phy.  Rev. Lett, Adv. Func. Mater.、Nanoenergy,  Chem. Sci.、Chem.  Mater. 等国际权威学术期刊上,发表论文170余篇,被引用次数约10000次。
